With miles and miles of opportunity, Southpaw Sports & Entertainment, Inc. is bringing minor league baseball to the South Plains of Texas.

Lubbock's rich history and affiliation with baseball makes it a perfect community for a minor league team. From the beginning, a love affair with our national pastime brought professional organizations such as the Lubbock Hubbers and the Lubbock Crickets to the Hub City. Baseball flourished in West Texas during the early part of the 20th Century with the addition of the Lubbock Hubbers in 1922 to the Class D West Texas League. In 1947 as part of the West Texas-New Mexico League, the Hubbers won 99 games and scored a stunning 1,247 runs, ranking them among the best baseball organizations of all time.

Little League

Little League

As with any American community, a love of baseball starts early. Providing every child an opportunity to play baseball, Lubbock hosts 7 geographical Little League organizations along with numerous Select Little Leagues. A proud community celebrated in 2007 as the Lubbock Western All-Stars Little League Baseball team made it to the final four of the Little League World Series.

Lubbock's love of baseball and its faithful community will serve as a successful city for a minor league baseball team. The charge forward comes from a passion to join all members of the community, both young and old, from the sandlots of yesterday to the stadiums of tomorrow.
