Ainsley Nelson - Secretary
As Secretary of Southpaw Sports and Entertainment, Inc., Lousiana native Ainsley Nelson recalls her first brush with baseball. As a little girl playing in her new backyard, her dad tossed her a ball he found while mowing the yard. Ainsley treasured the ball, though not knowing the true value of what she held in her hands. The ball had autographs of many recognizable major league players. Names such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays and Bob Feller were found to be on the old ball. The value of the baseball is more than money, but the love for baseball her father shared with her that day is priceless.
Ainsley's primary emphasis with Southpaw is the operation of West Texas Endurance. The expansion and excellence of those endurance events referred to above, is due to her expertise and community involvement. Before moving to Lubbock, Ainsley served as the Executive Director of 26 Miles for 26 Charities, the philanthropy program of the Austin Marathon & Half Marathon. Ainsley's background has led her to work with corporate running programs, a global technology conference, government affairs for Fortune 500 organization, and she served as director of scheduling for former Governor George W. Bush of Texas. Her love of sports also had her involved in Ironman 70.3 Austin, a qualifying race for the Ironman World Championship 70.3. She currently serves as the Regional Director of Communications and Marketing for Covenant Health, the largest hospital system in West Texas.
